    Multi-tool Checklist (What to effect and what not to effect)

    Now I've seen people suggest multiple tools, multiple modes, among other things for the multi-tool problem with gathering/destroying something you don't want.

    I've thought of a way that might fix this issue and allow for us nomads to gather/destroy/construct/deconstruct only what we were wanting to.

    A Checklist of sorts:

    [ ] Terraform enable/disable
    [ ] gather biological
    [ ] Mining
    [ ] Construction/deconstruction

    This is a heavily primitive check list, but ya. I could have someone draw up something that looks much better and more like this game if the request comes around.

    Thoughts?

    Could work, but would multiple modes not do the same in an easier way?

    Except for with a checklist you could have the tool be able to do multiple things without having to switch modes.

    Sure, but how would you do it so it felt "natural"?
    Instead of - modes, which you can change by rolling mouse wheel and weapon will changes its glow by mode it is in. Simple and easy to use. (but multi mode gathering all will stay there as you would use it most of the time anyway)

    Also, how could you mine whithout terraforming? Or you just mean by mine - gather boulders and nests?
    The more you know, the crazier you look.
