I'm not yet..... my son just bought Spore, we used to have it years ago, no idea where the disc is. Steam is having a sale, so he bought the complete set and now we're having fun with that..... until PN arrives!

So how do we get the option to opt in? Does it take time or how does this work?

I guess it will take time for Steam to get it set up on there end. Honestly I have never been on this close to such a big update lol. All I know is when its live we right click on planet nomads in steam, go to properties then in properties go to the betas tab and select the alpha survival. Which at the moment is not showing up. So guess it will be a while longer. Arghhh. Come on steam. Work faster lol

Open Steam and find Planet Nomads in your game library. Right click on it and select properties. You get a screen with tabs and select the tab called Beta. From there you can normally opt-in. Haven't tried it yet, since I'm not on my pc at the moment, but on my laptop.

Thanks. But I already know that part. What I don't know is if there is anything I can do on my end to get the option in, because so far it is only showing "None". Is there a way to force Steam to recheck for available Betas?

Not that I know of. I have tried closing and reopening Steam and that has not worked. So guess its just a waiting game lol. Come on Steam I have 100mb of download speed at my disposal for this update. GIMMIE!!!

Update just got this message a few minutes ago from daniel over on Facebook.

Daniel Maslo Glad I forgot to hit send, because I would say 7 pm. It's any minute now.

So I guess we getting it any time now.

Anyone able to consume water? I seem to be fine gathering it, but not being able to pick up the container to drink.

Your inventory may be full. Try dropping something then try the water. I had that issue

Ugh. I'm having tons of other problems.

One problem is that I'm having terrible framerate issues, so the game is super slow for me. I am also getting really bad motion blurs. This is all due to my pc being slow.

I spent some time in the survival and I noticed some problems. The jet creature rushed at me and kept pushing me back, but eventually it came to a complete stop and wouldn't move anymore. I tried with a different of the same type of creature and it did the same thing.

The multi-tool is drilling too fast on unwanted occasions (creative). Just tapping it drills a hole. I think the old system was better (having to switch tools), and if you could pick the intensity of the drilling would be even better.

The thing that is really bothering me is the building (in creative). I can't place anything anywhere now. The object outline is too close to the character, and it just shows red. I can't point at a place and place the block there unless I'm almost touching the ground.

I found tons of bugs already that I'm gonna have to spend time to show and explain them all. : (

Craneballs hire me so we can fix these issues XD. LOL

I'm gonna have to record videos to show all these issues since it's so hard to explain them. But my computer T_T

Ohh btw, You can jet pack to space now! LOL

I am also having some terrible fps issues and I would say I have a decent rig. 1070 with an i5-6500 and 16gb ram. I've been slowly going up the ladder of things to build in survival XD. I just got to the base building.

I can confirm all of them except for the fps issues. To my surprise the game runs smooth on my GTX 750 Ti. To overcome the building issue I switched to 3rd person and that seems to be working better.

All I miss now is snapping blocks, that would make live so much easier. After being killed for the 10th time and getting stuck in respawn, I switched to creative and I'm well on my way to build a base. The multitool is indeed to fast in creative and I really do miss the animals. Please Craneballs add the the animals to creative as well, without them being aggressive or detroyable, just so the world isn't empty and we can admire them. I'm going to spent most of my time in creative and pretty much every other game has the creatures in every mode. We're not all survivalists but still would like the full experience of the game, regardless of what mode we play in.

Is stated very clear in the pre-order info that you get the game once it's released as early access on Steam or GOG. The only advantage is that you get it for a low price.
