It's too easy to accidentally delete a block without intending to. With an activator key, such as alt or shift, coupled with the current right click such accidents would be vastly reduced.

Please not, that would be tedious in the end, having to press some extra key. I'm not in favour of having to go through unneeded hoops to get something done.
I think a "undo" "redo" button would work better (like found in MS word/paint)
