    Lightbulb Idea: Solar Switches

It would still connect to other devices like a normal switch but it would automatically switch off at night and on during the day. Ideally there would be an option on it to make it work the opposite - on at night and off during the day.

I think this simple addition could add some new interesting building concepts.

For example, I have a deuterium powered airship with a load of solar panels and a battery array - in the daytime I would like for the airship to run on hybrid power but at night I would like for it to only run on deuterium.

A more common useful application would be attaching lights to it so that the lights automatically turn off during the day and then turn on at night, conserving power (and possibly improving frame rate).

Bcp made a video about how to make a daylight sensor, so you could build your own.

It's a neat trick but its usefulness is restricted due to how much space is required to make it work.
