    Signs

    Like they signs they have in Minecraft.

    Being able to rename a container is great, but being able to have a sign on the outside of the container labeling what it is would be awesome.

    Sounds like a lot of extra administration for me.
    Why on earth would someone spent all his time in life being a little bit creative, when you can go all the way?

    I'd like customisable signs, maybe as a separate placeable "decal" to put on existing blocks.

    SubNautica has them, and I like to use them to label various rooms (as well as keep from getting lost in especially-sprawling bases). They add to the sense of immersion.

    Maybe after blueprints are added they could consider add a 1x2 shadowbox block that displays an image of an blueprint.

    But really signs are far down my wish list.

    Here is a little something I was doing to help keep track of which printer had what, and I don’t see why the same could not be done for containers and switches.

    It's not just about printers. If I've made an elaborate base layout, maybe I want signs pointing the way to various sub-parts -like

    I get that, my current replay I will be focused on building lots of small building. (maybe a village)

    Last night I tried a method of signage.
    Using basic blocks to build large letters on top of the large containers. I was using the chemical symbol for each (i.e Ag for silver)

    this worked and looked OK, until i had to add another large container (on top) to hold extra cobalt and had to remove the sign I'd just made. :-(

    I found a way to "label" my printers. :-)

    Attach a Compact Container to the front.
    Drop 1 item of the type that printer will be making onto the container.

    It doesn't work unless you look at the box, but you don't have to open the container to work out which printer is which.

    I’m taking a new approach this replay, instead of a master factory for all parts in one spot; I’m trying to push the limits for small buildings design, and although less efficient I’m thinking of have a building or room for each part.

    For example this station will be for frames, and the wings behind it will be the entrance to a building for plants and glass.
    So uniqueness will be my Signage.

    OMG! I used this feature to mark the road when I left my base! I am lost now
