Harder Better Faster.
1 kph = 0,621371 mph
1 mph = 1,60934 kph

My own record is 50 kph = 31 mph

I got 75kph by turning off most of the stabilisation, and going forward and up.
There are some issues with exceeding 50 in level flight.
Never tried this ! Very interesting suggestion.

VERY DANGEROUS !
VERY EFFECTIVE !!!
I kept 2 Air Blade with stabilisation, otherwise the ship was out of control ...

I have pretty much accepted the 50kph cap. Can't get a usable flyer above that.
I reached 80 kph with this little speeder:
1h flying time.
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I am really impressed by the speed, for just 6 Air Blade !
I bet this is because you use battery instead Uranium Generator. They must be much lighter. Will try !
BTW I like your landing pod :-)
I get 44 mph which is 71 kph on all my flyers. The small one using batteries has 4 blades. I use 6 on the large flyer to get altitude. In the new update they raised that. Before 85 ft or whatever. Now its 110 ft.
71kph on mine. I tried adding more fans but it slowed down to 50 doing that.
Running 8 fans with a uranium genny.
Top speed 97kph briefly 93.7 standard with all stabilization off (72 with stabilize on.)

I am not sure but I believe I achieved escape velocity... Side note: there is no air in space for reals.

So that's the secret? Turning off stabilization? Or are there other tricks?
I've yet to reach more than 50 kph for small engines (whether wheels or airblades) or 30ish for large ones; the kW/kg ratio does not seem to matter with my attempts, i. e. no matter how much engine power I add for a given weight, I can't get faster. Though I admit I haven't tried turning off stab so far.
Sorry for bug:
As you can see, you need 4 km/h to get off the orbit.
Ok, ok, my record is 18501 km/h: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=940315942
Yeaaah, is all in very old versions...
Ok, my actual record is ~70 km/h on ground and 40 km/h in air.
Actually PN have no speed limit. Provided with the right equipment you can literally touch the stars.

P.S. sorry for low frame rate
thanks to smerch's video it gave me an idea for my air ship which was hitting a limit of 50 KPH, by modifying his example, i was able to move much faster, however it wasn't controllable, with some fooling around i came up with this design which has a slower acceleration than the example but is much more controllable. note, short forward bursts are used.

here is my airship (weight 103,000) traveling at a comfortable speed not too wobbly, doesn't fly off in to space.

Note: ignore air-blades in vertical positions, i was using another trick to achieve the 50 KPH, ship would only move a max of 30 KPH with 4 airblades, addition of two vertical air-blades made it to 50, they are off for this testing.
I was able to hit 117KPH with a small flyer using 8 small airblades with stabilization disabled. It also had a radar on top - I used this vehicle to map more than half of the globe. It's important for the center of balance to be slightly to the front or else it's speed will be restricted.
