Merry Christmas Nomads!

We have two holiday surprises for you today.

The first one: when you create a new survival game (starting with today's 0.8.4 update) you will find presents all over the planet.

The second one: when you create a video of you finding and unboxing these presents, and post it on Youtube, Twitch or similar game-video sites, you get a chance to win the physical box. That black survival crate. You know, the one from the Nomadic Journals video. Full of Planet Nomads branded material and a firestarter.

How to join the competition for the physical box:

Record yourself finding the presents inside Planet Nomads and post a link to your video to this thread.

In January, we will select one of the videos at random. If it's yours, you receive the Survival Kit Box.

Post your video before the last midnight of 2017 to get in.

It's a nice idea. I only wish I wish I was able to take part. Almost as much as I wish I was able to play this game.
This update and the news prompted me to start the game yet again to see if it was playable. Unfortunately, not. Upon leaving the capsule I see the familiar 8-12fps, which is extremely tiresome to play with.
My specs are:
i7 2600k
GTX560Ti
32GB RAM

So, thank you for the kind gesture, but I will resign myself to visiting the local butcher tomorrow to get my dog a cheap bone and then at least one of us will have a happy Christmas.

My system is several years old, GTX660, I get around 35-40 FPS with settings turned down mostly. Your GTX is rated lower, older than mine I guess, but I'd imagine it could get at least 20 FPS if you turn settings down:

Just try it ;) I think that not that many Nomads will provide the video (compared to how many people you usualy compete whith in other competitions), so your chance to win is quite high ... and I already have the "Survival Kit Box", so I leave this one for others to enjoy its content

I run fine on a AMD FX-8120 20gb RAM GTX550ti with around 25-35 FPS. This was at 1820 x 1024 with medium to low graphics. I'll have to look next time I'm in game and give you the break down on the specific graphics settings in game. The only graphics issue I have is with terrain rendering while in flight. Trees will flicker in and out, and I won't see much terrain detail until I stop and hover, letting the rendering complete.

One thing to note about the i7 2600k series is I believe they have integrated graphics so you may need to disable that in the Bios. Hope you still had a Merry Christmas.
